Anuradhapura is full of ancient structures.
Fragments of sculpture, brick platforms and stone pillars
are everywhere, some of them unexplored and undocumented.
A walk along these timeworn pathways is always full of surprises,
pillars emerging from the mist, a large mound of bricks
which was once a chaitya, a guard stone half-buried under
a tree.
