At Gonalabba is a small estuary where the sea flows in from a break in the sand dunes flooding the plains and creating small inlets of land that thrust into the waters like the prongs of a fork. Here the beleaguered deer spend the night, as from this haven, it is much easier to spot a predatory leopard on the prowl.
