The eco-system of a tropical
rainforest is complex and fragile and endures only as one
whole entity. The wealth of plants and its continuing regeneration
within the existing framework makes the rainforest productive.
Nutrients are derived mainly from the mantle of trees that
vault over the forest floor. The instant the forest is cleared,
the land becomes denuded and barren. High rainfall, humidity
with little movement of air and infertile soil do not entice
a green world to rise again.
