The coastal town of Negombo bustles with
fish and fisheries like no other town in Sri Lanka. Prawn
fishing in the lagoons, boats going in and out of the estuaries
and canals, outrigger canoes and sailing boats at sea, dry
fish spread out under the sun, nets being dried on the beaches,
noisy bargaining as the catch is sold, anglers casting along
the canals, crows flapping around grabbing bits of fish
.
The sights, the sounds, the smells. All of fish.
